There’s a meme that says that with a New Year we just need to understand that only the first 365 days are the hardest. Here in Canada it is just high theatre ALL the time—for such a tame and peaceful nation. We’ve got The ArriveCan investigation which is riveting in subtleties and outright outrage. There’s the Federal Court decision on the Emergency Act fallout. There’s a UK/Canada trade war now over beef, eggs and milk. The truckers are thinking of going to Texas in solidarity and this does not even cover the International scene where the wars rage. The International Court of Justice has reprimanded Israel. The Houthis are bombing ships. The Ukraine continues to be the Ukraine. Protests are wild all over the world. And who knows what North Korea is up to. And so, if you can, put some food away for awhile. This might be an issue if the Canadian truckers leave the country for a bit—goods will not be moving maybe. So yeah, these 365 days will be one for the history books. But at the end of the day we do what we can within our resources. Some can do less. Some can do more. But the divisiveness…. that’s everybody’s problem at this point. If nothing else, the House of Commons question period on Monday will be quite the show. We do what we can. At least with each other we can suspend the divisiveness even if leaders just don’t seem capable of it. Peace. Here. Now.

And what might be the root cause of all that mayhem? Worth considering:
