It's a bleak picture and he's absolutely right. Pointing out the obvious proximity/practicality benefits of our relationship with the neighbour in real life conversation has, for me, been met with near-insane rebuttals.
We deal with despots all the time. Communist China. They are sending us fentanyl precursors so cartels and bikers and who knows who can make the lucrative killer drugs flooding streets everywhere. We don't care about that though because orange man bad. TDS is real and spitting righteousness.
